FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mother of 5 Inspired by Daughter: Mom Launches Publishing Firm, Teen Daughter is debut Author
Tukwila, WA, July 5, 2007---- 5 Muses Publishing today announced the publication of Nyville High No.1: Welcome to Nyville! The debut teen fiction novel series was written by 18 year old author and entrepreneur, Shalayne Alexandria. It is also the debut product from publishing start-up 5 Muses Publishing, launched by the author’s mother, R. L. Polhill.
“I spent all my allowance money reading romance novels, Dean Koontz novels, Jane Austin novels and Harry Potter novels. My mother finally suggested I write my own book and I am happy I actually listened to her suggestion,” said Shalayne.
The Nyville High series is centered on fictional teens. The characters deal with matters of the heart and typical teen angst in addition to issues concerning today’s teens like internet dangers, family turmoil, eating disorders and cyber bullying.
Each book in the series ends with a cliff hanger like a paperback soap opera according to Polhill. Also, each week, the author invites readers to experience Nyville High as an e-student by reading the weekly online blog that compliments the paperback book and its characters. According to the teen author, "The weekly blog is a fun read and it will keep the readers interested in the series and the characters while they wait for the next book to come out."
The paperback book (ISBN 13:
978-0-9786180-1-8) is available at
5MusesPublishing.com,
